Keepsakes are a series of bioplastic sculptures based on 3D scans of trinkets from personal collections. This work investigates individual histories through hobbyist collections of personal passions and interests. Casted from trinkets owned by members of my artist collective machines of, seemingly random objects compose a tapestry of memories; how we came across them, who we shared them with, and their place in our own little trove of wonders. Yet, unlike the genuine counterparts we hold dear, their fragile existence mirrors our own, slowly degrading over time. What will remain of what we once cherished?
This work was made as part of my artist collective machines of for our exhibition residua & remnants, held at the gong show from July 25 to 27, 2025.
