Chau Nguyen is an interdisciplinary artist, researcher and multimedia designer based in the Greater Toronto Area.
Her creative practice investigates the intersection of our physical and digital realities using mechanical technologies, hauntological nostalgia and empathy. She explores the in-between of these spaces in her work through fabrication, graphic and material design, tangible media and embodied interaction. By recontextualizing found objects and subverting familiar routines, her work seeks to elicit new understandings of the human experience, weaving personal vulnerability together into a shared sense of community.
Chau is a recent graduate of the New Media (BFA) program at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). She is currently a Research Assistant at the Synaesthetic Media Lab under The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University.
